10th Anniversary Charity Golf and Dinner

Back to list

Our 10th Anniversary Charity Golf and Dinner was held on 13th April 2018 (Friday) at The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

We certainly got to witness God’s grace and providence to us; as the dark clouds seen from that morning were blown away, leaving behind clear skies and a cool breeze over the course, making for a beautiful afternoon of golf and good laughs. We were truly blessed!

As the sun set beyond the verdant greenery, our golf tournament came to a close and our gala dinner began. We were reminded yet again of God’s grace and blessings to us; as our auction was met with many generous bidders. The funds raised will go a long way in helping the disadvantaged and underprivileged in society.

We would like to express our utmost gratitude to our Guest of Honour for our golf tournament, Rev Dr Gordon Wong, President of The Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC), Methodist Church in Singapore; and our Guest of Honour for our gala dinner, Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development, for gracing this milestone event with their presence.

To all our donors, sponsors, supporters and volunteers, thank you for the generous support in making our 10 th Anniversary celebrations a resounding success.

Moving forward, there are plans for growth in the near future. With the upcoming expansion of a literacy centre in the Jurong West area, more children can benefit from our programmes and services. Therefore, we hope that the giving will not stop!

It certainly takes a lot to continue our fruitful work with children and youth in our community, and there are always opportunities to donate generously. There are also opportunities to collaborate with us on a volun-teering front through the many programmes and services we provide. We pray for more people to join us as volunteers too.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we humbly ask that you keep us in prayer, as we continue to do good work so that we can build a better world for our children.

The important work of Epworth Community Services is funded primarily by generous well- wishers who strongly believe in our cause.
